December often gets idealized as cocoa and cookies, beautiful gifts, fun family moments, or exotic trips… but let’s be honest, it can be exhausting!

Why should we start the new year feeling depleted, when we could actually enjoy the season and feel energized come January 1?

If you thought you had a long list of “to do’s” before…most of us find that it doubles during December.


What happens by default:

  • The burden of being the “magic maker,” creating magazine-worthy memories 
  • Navigating difficult personal or political divides during “happy” holiday moments
  • The traditions that everyone expects you to indulge in

But what if instead, we prioritized and planned for:

  • What we actually want (despite other’s expectations)
  • What our family actually needs (despite what the rest of the world is doing)
  • Making a realistic, and intentional plan so that December is joyful (and not draining)

By the end of our day together, you’ll have a step-by-step plan to guide you through the final 6 weeks of 2024—one that takes into account your health, your work, your family, and holiday fun.

A note from Mia....

My wellness adventure became a full-blown ride about 15 years ago when I understood the power food could have on my health, my family connection, and my productivity. That experience led me to become a student of life. I have studied mindfulness, yoga, coaching, entrepreneurship, parenting, mindset, and relationships, to name a few.

At the foundation of Make December Matter are two unforeseen gifts from this journey. First, the practice of finding time to plan, especially at times when my plate feels so very full at work and home. Second, the gift of a restorative December.

Today, I get “simple,” but this process continues to transform my favorite season. When I started all this, my kids were 1, 3, and 6. This holiday season, they are 15, 18, and 21. It’s different and just as important now as it was 14 years ago to pause in November and end my year with intention.
